Satay Sauce

Ever since my father introduced me to the amazingness of the satay flavour, its been a clear favourite of mine.

This makes for a great dipping sauce or simply add it into your stir fry and for a beautiful main dish.

Ingredients

½ Tin Coconut Milk
2 Tbsp Peanut Butter (Smooth)
3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
¼ Tsp Asafoetida Powder
½ Tsp Salt
2 Tsp Agave Syrup (Less if you don’t like it sweet)
1 Tsp Crushed Chilli Flakes (Optional)

Method

  1. In a small saucepan scoop out the coconut cream from the tin and let it melt down on a low flame.
  2. Add the peanut butter, asafoetida, soy sauce, salt, agave syrup and mix well.
  3. Stir in more coconut milk until you get a silky, smooth pouring texture.
  4. Take off the heat and set aside.
