Chocolate Chai Shortbread

Chocolate – Good, Chai – Good, Shortbread – Good.

It’s exactly this, nothing extra. This couldn’t be a simpler recipe.

Mix it up, bake it, dip it, eat it.

Serves

12 Biscuits

Ingredients

175g Plain Flour
70g Sugar
¼ Tsp Himalayan Salt
120g Butter
60g Chocolate
2 Tsp Chai Masala

Method

1. Preheat the oven at 150°C
2. Cream together the sugar and butter.
3. Mix in the flour, salt and chai masala.
4. Roll out to 1cm thickness and cut out biscuits.
5. Place them on a baking tray and bake for 40 mins (keep an eye out as they start to brown you can check to see if they’re done).
6. Cool them on a wired rack.
7. Melt the chocolate over a double boil (for an extra hit of chai you can mix in some masala into the melted chocolate).
8. Dip the biscuits halfway (or the whole thing if you want) and let the chocolate cool.
9. Decorate with a few rose petals if you’d like.
